Female Pairs Single Rope Freestyle

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Here is a solid routine from the 2007 US National Jump Rope Championship. This is Kelly Fuller and Jamie Delozier from Jumping For Joy. This routine earned them 1st place in the 15-17 age division championship and 3rd in the Grand National championship. Notice how closely they are synchronized when they jump. That takes A LOT of practice. Nice work ladies!

2007 USA Jump Rope National Championship Results

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

The 2007 USA Jump Rope National Championship results have been posted to the USA Jump Rope website.
2007 National Jump Rope Championship Results

If I read the results correctly, it looks like Tori Boggs went home with a lot of new hardware to put on display. She won the Female Triple Unders, Female Single Rope Speed, Female Three Minute Speed, and Female Single Rope Freestyle events. That basically amounts to a sweep of the individual single rope events which is absolutely amazing! She is clearly one of the top athletes our sport has ever seen.

Here is some video from a team that made it “on Stage” at Nationals. This is an all male team from Hot Dog USA performing their Double Dutch Pairs Freestyle on stage during the Grand National Championship. This is a great routine with some very innovative tricks. The Double Leap Frog that they start the routine with is a really cool trick. This routine was good enough to earn them 2nd place, which is an amazing accomplishment in today’s hyper-competitive field.

USA Jump Rope 2007 National Championship Is This Weekend

Monday, June 18th, 2007

This year’s USA Jump Rope National Tournament will be held this coming weekend at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. June 22-23 will be the National Age Division Championships followed by the Grand Masters National Championship on June 24th. If you are attending, please be sure to take lots-o’-video and share it with the rest of us by submitting your videos to JRV.

Will Adam Pang repeat as Single Rope Freestyle Champion?

What sort of crazy and innovative Double Dutch tricks will the Summerwind Skippers have cooked up?

Will Justin Meier break any national speed records?

Can Tori Boggs break her own records in single rope speed? If she can maintain her top speed with no misses, we might even see some world records broken! If you’ve never had a chance to see her jump speed you’re missing out. Here is some video of her doing 30 second speed. The girl is crazy fast.

Good luck to everyone!

Super Skippers Win Gold in Toronto

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Here is a reader submitted video from the Cary YMCA Super Skippers. Special thanks to Maureen Tarquini for sending this in.

Maureen writes:

“The Junior Female (12-14) team from the Super Skippers (Amanda, Lauren, Anna, Amy and Melissa) took the overall gold last summer in Toronto in the Maple Leaf International Rope Skipping competition. They started off with a couple of disappointing performances and were in 5th place (out of the eight teams) after the morning speed events. But they managed to pull off a silver or gold in all four of the freestyle events and catapulted themselves to the Gold! Almost as exciting as getting to meet Corbin Bleu ;-) Team USA swept the age category with two Bulldogs teams capturing the Silver and Bronze, narrowly defeating Team Belgium.”

Way to go Super Skippers!
