Here’s a clip from MTV…
The members of North Carolina’s Saltare talks about the support they’ve gotten from the jump rope community and the crew’s versatility.
Look out everyone! Jump Rope is in the spotlight on the national stage thanks to a group of USA Jump Rope All Stars. A crew called Saltare has made it on season 5 of America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV. If you follow jump rope, you already know their names… Chaz Robinson, Tyler Perez, Lee Reisig, Billy Jackson, Lisa Brown, & Brittany Fortier. What an amazing collection of talent!
I just watched the east regionals in which Saltare debuted on national TV. Saltare absolutely killed it! They nailed their routine without a flaw, got the entire audience on their feet, and left the judges in awe. The judges were unanimous in their praise of the crew’s talent. When it was time to select which crews would advance, Saltare was the first crew to be chosen to advance to the next round.
Follow Saltare on their website saltarecrew.com and on Facebook.
Here is an in interview with the crew backstage during the taping of the season 5 regional.
Good luck Saltare! The entire Jump Rope community is behind you. We hope you go all the way!
This video was sent in by Gary Anderson. These are just some of the highlights from a staff show at Northern camp in Indiana.
Awesome jumping by the staff as usual. Camp Staff shows were always the highlight of the experience for me, both as a camper and a staff member.
Thanks for sharing Gary!
These videos were sent to us by our good friend Maarten Goedemé from Belgium. This is video from DDCB 2009. This year’s DDCB was broadcast in 46 countries in 11 different languages. The official website for the event is www.ddcb.be The production values of these videos and the competition are great. Not to mention there is some serious jumping and performing going on here. These guys are definitely taking it to another level.
Thanks for sharing Maarten!

It’s official… the video of the Kings Firecrackers has gone viral. CNN has picked up the story and spoke with coach Lynn Kelley and team member Alyssa Young about the team and the hard work that goes into their performances. Their video is getting millions of hits and is making its way to the email inboxes of many more potential viewers as we speak.
I’m very impressed at the top notch way the team is representing themselves and the sport. Nice job Firecrackers!! Keep up the great work!
Sebastian Deeg is back with a new series of videos. This time he is providing us with a glimpse into the evolution of some the tricks that he has created. I really like the way he has broken down the tricks into some of their basic components. It’s funny that I just used the word “basic” because there is actually nothing basic about these tricks. These are very clearly Masters level tricks. Even seeing them broken down like this, they are going to take me a very long time to land. That’s the great thing about this sport… there’s always a new challenge waiting for you. I’ll post more of Sebastian’s trick evolution videos in the future to help round out the tricks category on JRV.
BTW, if you aren’t familiar with Sebastian’s previous work… do yourself a favor and check out his “Go Hard or Go Home” video. It’s still one of my favorites from the first two years of JRV and I’m sure it will be one of yours too. Sebastian is a great athlete and true innovator in the sport. It’s always fun to see what guys like him will come up with next.
This video is really cute and just goes to show that jump rope truly is a sport for all ages. This was graciously sent to us by Carolyn Schulz. It is a video of her daughter, Anna, and her jump rope journey thus far. Carolyn joined a jump rope team in BC, Canada back in 1993 and has been involved with the team ever since by coaching & competing. She even competed in four tournaments while she was pregnant with her daughter. Get ‘em while they’re young! Now her daughter is clearly picking up her mother’s love for the sport.
Thanks for sharing Carolyn!! By the way… that is one adorable kiddo!!
Here’s a video from Jeff Mauss and Nick Woodard showing you some “really good jumping.” That’s a bit of an understatement if you ask me. These guys have consistently elevated the sport to a new level over the years. Along with fellow Razz-Ma-Tazz team member Katrina Bartkowiak, they performed what is still one of the best and most difficult double dutch routines ever seen at Nationals. This video shows Nick and Jeff along with several other jumpers continuing to push the envelope. Jump Rope will never be the same again.
